The most inspiring people I have ever met – those that have led an amazing life – seem to only disclose the intriguing elements of their journey when pressed to share. There is an aspect of reluctance, of not holding interest in themselves as much as in others. It is not that they lack confidence, powerful life experiences, or wisdom. It is that they already know their own story, they already know what they know. What they don’t know is what they don’t know. They are keenly aware that they can not learn if they are talking, only if they are listening.
While not always apparent from the outside, those who have created inspiring lives have overcome more than their fair share of obstacles, setbacks, pain, and fear. And, these people know that on the climb there will be more difficulties to overcome. In spite of the inevitable challenges that will fall somewhere on the road ahead, they are “all in” for the game of life. These folks do not play not to lose, they play to win…
